Prof. Kevin Manaugh and Prof. David Wachsmuth co-led the development of an exploratory dashboard at McGill University with funding from the McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) and the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF). This project began in 2017 and ended in 2022; the funds supported the research and development of the platform that eventually became Curbcut.
It was the origin of Curbcut: the research dashboard built here — combining sustainability data with scenario modelling for the Montréal region — became the foundation of the platform we now deploy for cities, governments, and researchers.
