To support its regional social-development policy (PRDS), the City of Laval needed a clear, rigorous way to see where social and spatial inequalities concentrate across its territory. Curbcut co-designed a multidimensional living-environment equity index (IÉMV), an actionable measure of vulnerability built and weighted collaboratively with the city’s committee.
Curbcut handled the methodology, the index calculation, and its full technical and visual integration into the Curbcut Laval platform, where teams can explore it alongside the city’s other data and export it as a downloadable dataset. The result gives municipal staff and partners a finer reading of the territory to guide evidence-based planning and public policy.
